PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS IN PA

Congressional Matchups Decided In Region

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The race for the 9th Congressional District in Pennsylvania will see a rematch of Republican incumbent Dan Meuser against Democratic challenger Amanda Waldman. The district stretches northward from Lebanon County and includes all or parts of 12 counties. In the 11th District, incumbent Republican Lloyd Smucker goes against a political newcomer, Jim Atkinson, who ran unopposed on the Democratic ballot. Thirteenth District Congressman John Joyce, a Republican faces Democratic challenger Beth Farnham.

Biden, Trump, Casey, McCormick Win PA Primary Nods

(Harrisburg, PA -- Tuesday's Pennsylvania Primary results saw the favorites win their respective party's nominations. In the top race, President Biden won the Democratic nod, while his predecessor, Donald Trump took the GOP race. The race for the US Senate will see incumbent Democrat Bob Casey go up against Republican Dave McCormick, who is making his second run for a Senate seat. Despite pleasant weather statewide, turnout is anticipated to be low.

State Office Races Set For Election Day

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The question of who would challenge incumbent state officeholders was decided in Tuesday's primary. Former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale earned the Democratic nod in the race for Attorney General, while York County District Attorney Dave Sunday won the Republican nomination. Current AG Michelle Henry chose not to run, after replacing Governor Josh Shapiro. In the Auditor General's race, GOP incumbent Tim DeFoor faces Democratic Representative Malcolm Kenyatta. Treasurer Stacy Garrity won the Republican primary in her re-election bid and will go up against Democratic nominee Erin McClelland.

State Senate Race Of Note In Midstate

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Among the primary races, one will have new, but familiar faces in the run for the 15th Senate district. Two-term Representative Patty Kim won the Democratic nomination on Tuesday and will face Dauphin County Treasurer and former county commissioner Nick DiFrancesco, who earned the Republican nod. They will run to replace Senator John DiSanto, who chose not to seek re-election.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Longtime Lancaster County state Representative Bryan Cutler has held off a Republican primary challenge. Cutler defeated challenger Dave Nissley in yesterday's primary to secure the Republican nomination in the November election. Cutler is the state House Republican leader and lives in Drumore Township, and is in his ninth term in the House. Nissley is from Sadsbury Township and is also a conservative, and criticized Cutler for compromising with House Democrats.

(Allentown, PA) -- It looks like State Representative Ryan Mackenzie is facing Democrat Congresswoman Susan Wild in the general election this November. Mackenzie is the projected winner in the three-way Republican primary race for Pennsylvania's Seventh Congressional District. Mackenzie currently serves as the state representative for District 187, covering part of Lehigh County. The Seventh Congressional district covers Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties, plus some of Monroe County.
