Shapiro Administration Announces SMAT Grants
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The application period for Sports Marketing and Tourism grants is open. The state Department of Community and Economic Development is offering the SMAT grants, which have helped bring major sporting events to Pennsylvania. DCED Secretary Rick Siger says the state is a proven destination for sports. In golf, the US Women's Open takes place this year in Lancaster, while the US Men's Open takes place next year in Oakmont, while in soccer, Philadelphia will host the 2026 World Cup. The grants are being accepted through 4 pm June 30th.
