We had a taste of spring this week, and there’s more to come.
Tonight, start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration early with Irish Blessing. The Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art is hosting its annual Chili & Tunes: An Evening with Irish Blessing at the Wooden Nickel restaurant in Millersburg. This year’s feature act is York-based family quartet, Irish Blessing, known for “intensely and unapologetically carries on the purest forms of traditional Irish music and dance.”
Tickets for Chili & Blues are $25, and include homemade chili and cornbread dinner, and are available by calling 717-692-3699 or visiting the Center’s online box office at www.nedsmithcenter.org.
On Saturday, enjoy a special treat: a one-stop shop look at the area’s young talent. The Harrisburg Mall is hosting a Broadway Showcase on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Center Court.
The event features musical pieces from area high schools and Open Stage Harrisburg’s OSHKids program. The event is free and open to the public -- Plus, I’ll be your host for the day.
Each month -- well, each full moon -- Troegs unveils one of its flagship beers doctored up with fruits, spices or herbs for its Full Moon Firkin event. On Sunday at 11 a.m., they’ll tap a special firkin of “Chai Tea” Hopback Amber Ale. You can learn more about firkins here.
Get there early, and you may be able to tap the firkin yourself!
