Spring may finally be on its way -- after this bizarro “Indian winter,” and it’s no surprise there are more and events going on throughout the area to take advantage of rising temperatures.

Start your weekend right with some good local music at the Abbey Bar on Friday night. Roots rock band, Chris Rattie & The Brush Valley Rumblers perform at 9 p.m. -- and the cover is just $5 (advance) or $7 (at the door).

I have an interview with Rattie over on my blog -- be sure to check it out.

DRIFTWOOD opens the show. Doors at 8 p.m.

Build your own mini-brew tour, right in your own backyard. Market Cross Pub is offering tours of its in-house brewery all day on Saturday.

By afternoon, you will want to want to feast at The Garlic Poet’s Chef Table featuring York-based brewery, Liquid Hero. This is not to be missed. The Garlic Poet’s Chef Kurt Wewer is a rising star -- you can read my review of his last Chef’s Table here.

The Chef’s Table with Liquid Hero runs 4:30-6:30 p.m., and you can purchase tickets online.

Walking Dead fans can take part in what has become somewhat of a tradition at the Federal Taphouse this Sunday. For the series’ season finale, both Federal Taphouse locations (Harrisburg and Lancaster) are hosting a Walking Dead party featuring trivia, prizes, drink specials and a zombie-themed menu.

Doors at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m. No cover!
