I have no idea where the time goes, but May has arrived. Let’s look forward to a drier, warmer weekend.

Take advantage of a dry spring evening with a City Islanders home game tonight at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island. To sweeten the deal, it’s also the first of five Craft Beer Nights with the City Islanders.

This Friday’s featured brewery is Samuel Adams. Get free samples all evening, and the first 100 get a special glass. Plus, all beers are priced specially for “Happy Hour” from 5:30 p.m. ‘til kickoff at 7 p.m.

This one was a hard one to narrow down. It’s Derby Day, of course, and there are plenty of wine events going on as well. My pick, after careful consideration, is the Apple Blossom Festival in Adams County.

Not only there a ton of family friendly events -- and of course, countless apple-related foods and events -- but also live music and mini-wine and cider festival, as well.

The participating wineries/cideries for the Apple Blossom Festival include: Adams County Winery, Big HIll Cidery (new), Hauser Estate Winery (Jack's Hard Cider), Good Intent Cider and Reid's Orchard Winery.

The Apple Blossom Festival runs Saturday and Sunday.

Catch area dancers at the Capitol Kickline this Sunday on the steps of The State Capitol!

The event will mark the close of National Dance Week by linking together on the Capitol steps to remind central Pennsylvania why dance and dance education is a vital part of our culture.

Dancers will present a kickline to the community around 1 p.m. Dancers of all ilk can join in on the fun for free.

Following, dancers can join workshops and present new routines to the community.
