Motley Crue Biopic 'The Dirt' Has Its Cast

The Dirt, the biopic for Motley Crue - one of the rowdiest and most wild bands of the 80's - appears to have its cast. The film is scheduled to go into production next month.

Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon and Daniel Webber of The Punisher are in contract negotiations to play guitarist Mick Mars and vocalist Vince Neil respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly will play drummer Tommy Lee and Douglas Booth will play bassist Nikki Sixx.

Booth posted a photo of Crue's lineup with the actors set to portray them with the caption, "What a Mötley Crüe! Beyond excited to play Nikki Sixx in #TheDirt with these boys. Some big boots to fill and some tight leather pants to squeeze into! @netflix"

Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, announced the news on Instagram, saying, "and it’s finally announced. 😬🎬 excuse me for being crass but....HOLY F***ING SHI**********T!!!!!!! 🤘🏽 @variety 🙏🏽 @netflix @tommylee"

The Dirt is based on the band's New York Times best-selling autobiography, Motley Crue's The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock, which chronicles their come up in LA's rock scene and the debauchery and excess that came along with it. The film will be directed by Jeff Tremaine, who has also directed Jackass and its three films along with Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.

The band members of Motley Crue are co-producing the film which has bounced around to different studios since 2003 before finally signing with Netflix. Motley Crue was formed in 1981 and performed their final show in 2015.
