>>Neighborhood In Mourning: Mrs. Rogers Dies at 92

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- One of Pittsburgh and the nation's most beloved neighbors has died. Joanne Rogers, widow of the legendary children's television host Fred Rogers, has passed away. After more than fifty years of marriage, when Fred Rogers died in 2003, Joanne became the caretaker of his legacy and that of his iconic television program Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. In her own right, Mrs. Rogers was a teacher, a professional pianist and a champion of the arts. Late last year, she was named as an honorary fundraiser in an effort to rebuild the Tree of Life Synagogue. Joanne Rogers passed away on Thursday at the age of 92.
