HEAT WAVE CONTINUES:
Very hot conditions will continue as we close out the work week. High temperatures will be in the middle 90s through the entire weekend. A few passing t'storms will be possible today but most will see little to no relief from the heat. Over the weekend the heat will peak in intensity with Saturday and Sunday making a run at the middle to upper 90s. Little relief is expected at night as temperatures will only fall into the lower to middle 70s. Make sure to stay hydrated during this heat wave and to limit strenuous outdoor activities if possible. Keep an eye on the elderly and watch for any signs of heat related stress on your pets! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all Weather Watch Days due to the heat!
A HINT OF RELIEF:
A cold front approaches from the northwest early next week which could bring the threat for some rain Sunday night into Monday. This front will help knock temperatures below 90 degrees for highs, but it will likely remain humid.
A NOTE FOR PARENTS:
During this time of extended high heat, make sure to check the back seats of your car as you head inside. It's crucial to prevent child-related hot car deaths, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
