The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees are out and Hard Rocks’ fans should be happy with some longtime names finally getting in.
Phil Collins finally gets in as a solo act, as he’s already in as a member of Genesis. Phil’s solo career as a singer, drummer, songwriter, and record producer comes with seven number-one singles, and more top 40 singles than any other artist in the 80s. Billy Idol may be the other memorable solo name from the 80’s, as the Generation X singer found massive success in the US that blazed through the 80’s and into the 90’s.
Iron Maiden finally stands side by side with Black Sabbath and Judas Priest as another giant in Heavy Metal gets in, after being one of the most dominant live metal bands from the 70’s that still sells out shows to this day. Joy Division finally gets in as the band that transformed and set the template for Post-Punk Rock, and even with the loss of Ian Curtis the band rebranded as New Order became one of the biggest Alternative Rock acts through the 80’s and 90’s.
Cherry on top Oasis stands tall as the first Britpop act to make its way into the Rock Hall, as one of the biggest rock bands in British rock history!
Missing the cut was INXS, The Black Crowes and Jeff Buckley.
