HOT AND SMOKEY:
Today is the real hot day with highs in the upper 90s. With the humidity, it will feel like it's over 105 degrees. The humidity will fall a little late Thursday into Friday, but it will still be hot as highs climb well into the 90s both days.
Areas of smoke from Canadian and Minnesota wildfires will also arrive tonight into much of tomorrow. The smoke will become surface level, especially Thursday afternoon, which could cause some air quality issues.
Only an isolated t'storm is possible for Thursday so there will be little to no relief through the course of the work week.
Heat advisory goes into effect today (Wednesday, July 15). The National Weather Service warns that temperatures could reach record highs, with the heat advisory lasting until 8 p.m. tonight.
WEEKEND RELIEF:
The heat will back off a bit this weekend. During the transition, the threat for showers and t'storms will increase.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, preferably in air-conditioned spaces, during peak heat hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those who must be outside, it is crucial to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, and take frequent breaks.
