>>Rise In COVID-19 Cases Attributed To Younger Population

(Lehigh, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Health is saying that COVID-19 is appearing more in younger adults than those of the age of 50 or over. Officials say the average age of patients with COVID-19 has been decreasing slightly, which leads them to believe there's an increase in younger people being diagnosed with the virus. So far in the northeast Pennsylvania region this month, the 19 to 24-year-old group has accounted for 16-percent of cases as compared to six-percent in April. That being said, the age group with the most hospitalizations and deaths related to the virus is people who are 65 or older.
