(Dillsburg, PA) -- Officials with Northern York County School District say a high school student has tested positive for COVID-19. In a letter to parents, that student hasn’t been in class since being sent him sick last week. The district’s superintendent says the high school will reman open since initial contact tracing is completed.

>>State Department Of Health Reports 898 New COVID-19 Cases

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Health officials are reporting 898 new COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania. Wednesday’s announcement brings the number of confirmed or probable coronavirus cases to 152,544 since the start of the pandemic. There were 39 more deaths related to COVID-19 complications announced yesterday, with the death toll now at 8,062.

>>Harrisburg Considering Improving Parking Signs

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The city of Harrisburg is considering improving their parking signs. Police Commissioner Thomas Carter says he is looking into it because the current signs don’t provide much in the way of details about when parking is restricted. The city is planning to improve some of the crossings near the transportation center next year to help keep pedestrians and bicyclists safer.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- It will be a parade, but in reverse in Harrisburg this year. City officials say this year’s annual Holiday parade will have spectators drive past floats and other decorations in a loop. The reverse parade will take place around the loop on City Island on November 21st.

>>Berks DA: RPD Officers Justified In Shooting Armed Person

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County District Attorney says Reading Police officers were justified when they shot an armed person last week. DA John Adams made the announcement yesterday, saying that the suspect will face charges after recovering. Authorities say Lakim Jahaad Miller-Nock was shot after refusing to drop a gun being pointed at officers. The shooting happened the morning of September 13th in the area of South Eighth and Franklin streets. Miller-Nock, a transgender woman who prefers to be known as Roxanne Moore, was last reported to be in critical but stable condition at the hospital.

(Reading, PA) -- A Reading school board member is asking the district to allow athletic practices. Patricia Wright is against canceling all extracurricular activities because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wright pointed out at yesterday's school board meeting that the districts Reading usually competes against are playing sports. The superintendent says that the district has had extensive discussions about the issue and will not be holding practices, with an eye on playing fall sports in the spring.

>>SUV Crashes Through Home's Wall Near Bechtelsville

(Washington Township, PA) -- A home has extensive damage after an SUV crashed through one of its walls. The crash happened yesterday at a home in Washington Township off old Route 100. Several family members in the home suffered minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital.

>>Reading Businesses Team Up To Assist Helping Harvest Food Bank

(Reading, PA) -- Two Reading businesses are giving back to Helping Harvest food bank. Kauffman's Chicken BBQ sold packaged meals yesterday as part of FirstEnergy's Harvest for Hunger fundraiser. A mobile restaurant stand was set up in a parking lot on North Fifth Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township. All proceeds from the event will go to Helping Harvest.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A bill that was vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf earlier this week is not passing after the override vote failed in the house. The bill was intended to give schools the final say to hold sports or not and decide how many people can attend sporting events. After vetoing the bill earlier this week, Wolf said that schools can already decide of whether or not they will play sports, that this bill was unnecessary and just trying to take away executive powers. Despite the override vote failing, schools can still decide on how many can attend sporting events after a federal judge ruled the governor's limits on gatherings unconstitutional.

>>Lock Haven Suspends All Events In Downtown For Two Weeks

(Lock Haven, PA) -- The City of Lock Haven is suspending all downtown events for two weeks due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Officials say the moratorium bars use of any city-owned property for gatherings and events, closes all public ball fields in city-owned parks and suspends all outdoor entertainment. This comes as the city counted 18 new cases of COVID-19 in one week and Lock Haven University returned to in-person classes after taking a two week break.

>>Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Speaks On Spectators For Sporting Events

(Hanover Township, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association is telling schools they are free to decide how many fans can come to games. This comes about a week after a federal judge ruled that the governor's limits on gatherings was unconstitutional. School boards are already making decisions on the matter like the Hanover Area School District, which is allowing all football players, cheerleaders and band members to invite two people to every game. Before the federal judge's ruling, all outside sporting events were limited to just 250 people and that included all the student-athletes, coaches and school staff, leaving very little room, for fans.
