A decade after their first member left the group (per History.com), another was tragically shot and killed outside his New York City apartment.

The rest of the band went on to release celebrated solo work, with one member forming a new group called "Wings" in the early '70s (per Britannica). This group went on to produce a string of hits like "Band on the Run," "Silly Love Songs," and "Live and Let Die." The greatest band of all time lost its second member in 2001, leaving two original members still standing.

The illustrious entertainers used AI to release a posthumous song last year, effortlessly merging generations of melodies, lyrics, and creativity in a way the world has never witnessed before.
