Man To Prison After Child Sex Conviction In Dauphin County
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A man is headed to prison for up to 20-years after being convicted in Dauphin County in a child-sex case. Joseph Miller was sentenced Tuesday and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after being accused of manipulating a 15-year-old he connected with via social media. The judge also said that Miller missed a chance to turn over a new leaf after being previously convicted of several burglaries in 2001.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A woman charged with lying to a grand jury about the disappearance of Tracey Kroh in 1989 is headed to prison. Holly Mallett pleaded guilty to lying about a conversation she had with Matthew Webster about the alleged rape and murder of the 17-year-old and will serve between six-and-23 months in Dauphin County Prison. The two had initially told jurors the conversation never happened. Webster pleaded no contest to perjury charges and was released for time served.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The head of Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry says eligible unemployed workers should be getting an extra $300 per week starting next week. The Federal Lost Wages Assistance Program will begin in PA starting September 14th, according to L&I Secretary Jerry Oleksiak. Only people who are unemployed due to the pandemic can apply for the payments. Those funds will be retroactive to August 1st, with a lump sum paid for the weeks through August 29th.

(Reading, PA) -- A teen is dead after a shooting in Reading. It happened Monday evening on the 200-block of South Ninth Street. The teen, identified as Christopher Ortega, died later at Reading Hospital. Investigators believe that Ortega likely knew his assailant. So far, no arrests have been made.

Police had said the man and the woman involved were traveling in a silver, four-door Volkswagen Jetta that was missing its front passenger-side hubcap. Wolf says they must address the mounting rent debt to help tenants stay in their home and allow landlords to pay their mortgages. He added that additional action is needed at the state level to protect Pennsylvanians despite the CDC's nationwide eviction ban from last week. Nearly 400-thousand Pennsylvanians are at risk of being evicted.
