Tracking Today's Snow

WINTER STORM TODAY:

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Another messy storm will impact the region today. This time it will be mostly snow! The snow has changed over for just about everyone and will continue, heavy at times through noon. Storm totals will average 3 to 5 inches for most of the area with locally higher amounts likely, especially over the ridgetops.

The wind will be a major factor today. Combined with the falling snow, near white-out conditions are likely in some areas. Blowing and drifting will become a concern late this morning, especially as the snow becomes drier and fluffier as it can blow around more easily. Expect gusts to approach 40 mph out of the NW at times.

Temperatures will continue to drop sharply into the 20s this afternoon. Any wet roads will refreeze so in addition to blowing & drifting, you'll need to watch out for icy patches!

Tonight will be breezy and very frigid for March. Lows will drop into the mid teens with wind chills near zero.

For obvious reasons, the CBS 21 First Warning Weather team has declared today a Weather *WATCH* Day.
