Have you listened to the shortest rock song ever recorded?

It will only take a second...we promise!

Timed at exactly 1.3 seconds, it takes longer to greet someone than it does to listen to this extremely succinct hit.

Napalm Death bandmates Nicholas "Nik Napalm" Bullen, Justin Broadrick, and Mick Harris were so confident in the track that they included it on their debut album Scum in 1989, and the rest was history.

According to a list compiled by Midination, the shortest rock song of all time is Napalm Death's "Suffer." Other short songs that made the list include Smashing Pumpkins' "17" (17 seconds), The Beatles' "Her Majesty" (23 seconds), Green Day's "The Ballad of Willem Fink" (32 seconds), and Jonny Trunk's "Ladies' Bras" (36 seconds) to round out the top five.

Here's what Midination had to say about the shortest rock song of all time:

"1.3 seconds, you saw that right and it's not a typo! In 1989 the British punk group Napalm Death, released on their debut album, what according to Guinness Records, is the shortest song ever recorded in the history of music. It has an exact duration of just 1.3 seconds! Napalm Death claims to have been inspired by a 1985 composition by the American punk group Whermacht. They have a song that barely lasted two seconds too."
