A man was hospitalized after a gator attack!
The man was fishing in a pond by a golf course at the Pennbrooke Fairways when the gator bit off his hand, reminiscent to Chubbs from Happy Gilmore.
"While the guy was on the ground, the gator got the guy in the hand, and the two rolled," witness Ron Priest said. "The gator was after fish, and what we don't know is if the guy was trying to unhook the fish."
The gator ran back into the water, and the man was airlifted to the hospital in Orlando.
FWC had to shoot what has been classified as a nuisance gator, which is the protocol, and emphasizes the importance of caution around alligators. Individuals are encouraged to contact 866-FWC-GATOR to report any sightings or issues in the area. You don't want to be the next guy turned into Chubbs from Happy Gilmore.
