Martin Scorsese will pay respect to his old friend Robbie Robertson, by directing the filming of Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson.
The concert will feature Mike Campbell, Eric Church, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Bruce Hornsby, Van Morrison, and Mavis Staples. Scorsese who's already a producer of the concert, will film the show, which goes on the road for the Life Is a Carnival: Last Waltz Tour '24.
With the film Scorsese gets to bookend his career with Robertson, as he directed the 1976 concert film The Last Waltz, which marked the last performance of The Band. Over the years that, Robertson scored music for Scorsese's films, The King of Comedy, Gangs of New York and Killers of the Flower Moon.
