David Bowie hit big in the 80's when "Let's Dance", hit number 1!
"Let's Dance" was the title track of his 1983 album, co-produced by Nile Rodgers of Chic, which was recorded in 1982 at the Power Station in New York City. Rodgers would transform the song from its folk rock sound to a dance sound, as Bowie hired then-unknown Texas guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, to give it a blues-edge.
Released as the lead single, "Let's Dance" became the biggest selling single of Bowie's career, topping the charts worldwide, as the song's music video, became a hit on MTV. The song is the most catchy, of all Bowie's more commercial work and has been covered, sampled, remixed and performed by other artists still to this day.
