"Freebird" is the signature song from Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd, and now fifty-two years after it was released, the band have made an official video!
Now to be fair when the song came out back in 1973, bands didn't really make music videos, since there was no MTV or YouTube. Granted there were promo videos that were made by artists, to sell their music abroad, but those videos were mostly performance videos of the band playing, and not a story being told, like many do today.
The new video, was directed by Max Moore, who tells the story between an older man and his younger self, looking back at a past romance and the motorcycle he rode when he was younger. The video is a love story, complete with a piggy-bag ride during a montage that shows the couple falling in love..
The band is currently wrapping up it's 50th anniversary tour across the US, before they head out to Europe in the Summer.
