This is one of the highlights of my life. I pre-ordered Tenacious D's upcoming graphic novel, Post-Apocalypto. and it came with a :45-second live chat with JB & KG!
I'm wearing an incredibly rare t-shirt from their first major tour in 2001, known among D-sciples as "the equation shirt". I can't find one on e-bay, amazon, even Google images. They recognized it right out of the gate! And then I made some flash cards for them to shout out my friends and family. BUT...when I tested the camera it was mirrored! So my wife, Nancy, printed out the names in REVERSE so they would show up correctly on the screen.
I was 86th in line and they showed a bunch of cool content while you waited, including clips from movies and tv shows and rare live D footage. When I got up to 10th in line, my heart was literally pounding out of my chest! I ran out of time before Jack could read all the names, but what an incredible experience. When you meet a band or artist back stage or at a book signing you don't really get more than a minute with them as a rule.
And to think I had all this adrenaline and a mind-blowing experience from my basement studio. Enjoy! It will take you longer to read this than to watch the video LMAO!
