Once a year, MTV nudges the pregnant teens aside and acknowledges that the "M" in its name USED TO stand for "Music". They do this by hosting the"MTV Video Music Awards". This year's ceremony went down last night.
TheFOO FIGHTERSwon the U.S. Global Icon Award, andDAVE GROHLused his very short acceptance speech to kind of poke fun at MTV basically having nothing to do with music anymore.
He thanked all the "past and present" people at MTV, like Kurt Loder,Tabitha Soren,Matt Pinfield, and J.J. Jackson.
Classic.
Of course, NONE of these people have anything to do with MTV's "present".
