Bears Look To Wrap Up Playoff Series

The Hershey Bears aim to secure their spot in the next round of the Calder Cup Playoffs as they face the Bridgeport Islanders tonight (April 23) at GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Bears hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three Atlantic Division First Round series after a 2-0 victory in Game One.

In the opening game, David Gucciardi broke a scoreless tie midway through the third period, and Clay Stevenson made 18 saves to earn his first shutout in the playoffs. The Bears' head coach, Derek King, described the match as a "game of checkers or chess" and praised his team's decision-making and defensive efforts.

The Bears' penalty kill was instrumental in maintaining their lead, successfully defending against a four-minute penalty. Gucciardi credited his game-winning goal to good positioning and support from his teammates. Stevenson highlighted the team's tight-checking game and clean exits as key factors in their victory.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET, and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets to support the Bears as they look to advance in the playoffs.
