(Harrisburg, PA) -- There are 967 confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases being added to Pennsylvania’s total. Monday’s announcement, which includes any new cases since Saturday, brings the Commonwealth to 150,812 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. There were 48 new deaths reported Monday, pushing PA over eight thousand related to COVID-19 complications.

(Middletown, PA) -- Officials with the Pennsylvania Lottery are warning of a scam that’s originating in Jamaica. Someone with a Caribbean accent is reportedly calling residents saying they won the Mega Millions or another prize. Lottery officials say they only contact the winners of a Second-Chance Drawing or to collect their winning story.

>>PA Restaurants Can Operate At 50-Percent Capacity

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Restaurants in PA are able to operate at 50% capacity. Starting yesterday, restaurants could submit a self-certification through DCED to increase from the 25%.

The new restaurant rules also include a last call for alcohol at 11 p-m.

(Camp Hill, PA) -- A teen from Cumberland County known for sharing the story of her fight against cancer has died. Lily Jordan battled osteosarcoma publicly by detailing her journey on social media before dying Sunday night. The 17-year-old used her battle to raise funds for the Four Diamonds Fund.

(Millersburg, PA) -- Officials with Mid Penn Bank say they are closing three branches in PA, including one in Dauphin County, by year’s end. The Pillow branch, which opened in September 2018, will join branches in Malvern and Vanderbilt in shuttering. The Pillow branch’s ATM will remain active, according to a statement from the Millersburg-based bank.

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County Bar Association is sharing its views on the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The association's president called Ginsburg a "fierce advocate for equality" and a "tenacious fighter." Ginsburg was appointed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton and died at her home in Washington, DC Friday. She was 87.

(Spring Township, PA) -- The Wilson School District is refinancing its current debt. The school board voted yesterday to approve refinancing the debt with a maximum amount of $33-million. The district has been working with an outside firm to restructure its debt. The debt is the result of bond issues from 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

(Shilington, PA) -- The Governor Mifflin School Board is moving forward with the implementation of a high school girls wrestling program. The program will launch with the winter 2020-2021 season. The Governor Mifflin Wrestling Club is covering all of the costs for the first three years of the program. It is the first girls wrestling program in Berks County, and believed to be the sixth in Pennsylvania.

>>Lancaster County Funeral Director Waives Preliminary Hearing

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County funeral director is waiving a preliminary hearing on charges that include abuse of corpses. Andrew Scheid appeared in court yesterday morning to answer charges pressed in August of four felony counts of tampering with public records and four misdemeanor counts of abuse of a corpse. Officials say the alleged crimes happened in December 2019 and January 2020 at Scheid's funeral home in Manor Township.

>>Governor Vetoes High School Sports Attendance Bill

Pennsylvania's General Assembly is considering an override vote after Governor Tom Wolf vetoed a bill yesterday, intended to give local officials power to hold high school sports and set attendance limits. Wolf says school officials already have the authority to decide whether to hold sports despite him recommending them not to until January and that the bill is an attempt to take away executive powers. He added that the health department should maintain power to make decisions that limit the spread of COVID-19 and that lawmakers should focus on funding schools for educational purposes instead of unnecessary legislation. State lawmakers believe school boards should decide on how many fans can attend sporting events and a vote could come soon to override the governor's veto.

(Moosic, PA) -- Officials are releasing more details on the plane crash that occurred in Lackawanna County, Sunday night. Officials say the pilot of the single-engine plane and his passenger were heading from Burlington, Vermont to their destination before the plane's engine started having issues over Lackawanna County. The pilot was able to identify the issue and made a mayday call to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, which is where they were attempting to land, but the engine failed and he was forced to make an emergency landing. In an attempt for an emergency landing, the plane crashed on Stone Street in Moosic Sunday night and knocked over power lines, but the plane's passengers left with non-life threatening injuries.

>>In-Person Classes Resume At Lock Haven University

(Lock Haven, PA) -- In-person classes at Lock Haven University are back after they took a two week remote learning break due to a small COVID-19 outbreak on campus. Officials say when they decided to close they had an infection rate within their campus population that exceeded 5%, but after testing hundreds of students over the hiatus they have an active positivity rate of just 3%. The university will continue with testing and will monitor the situation throughout the semester to ensure safety.
