Trooper Discharged from Hospital- Other Trooper Upgraded to Serious Condition

One trooper was released from WellSpan York Hospital, while the other remains in serious condition. The troopers' identities have not been disclosed.

Two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were shot during a police chase in Franklin County on Wednesday (October 8). The incident began with a retail theft at Dick's Sporting Goods in Guilford Township and ended with a shootout. The suspect, Lamar Foy, was killed after opening fire on the troopers.

The chase started when Troopers Pack and Amarose spotted the suspects' van on Interstate 81. The vehicle, carrying Foy and two women, failed to stop, leading to a high-speed pursuit. State police used a tire deflation device to stop the van. While the women complied with police commands, Foy fired at the troopers, hitting both. The troopers returned fire, killing Foy.

The investigation continues as officials gather more details about the incident.
