A man in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, was found dead following a shooting incident in Columbia early Tuesday morning (December 9). Columbia Borough police were initially called to Walnut Street around 1 a.m. after gunfire struck several vehicles and a home. Officers did not find any suspects or victims at that time.
Nine hours later, authorities returned to the area to investigate a reported overdose and discovered a deceased male inside a home. Police believe the man was involved in the earlier shooting, but it is not yet confirmed whether he died from an overdose or was shot.
Neighbor Misty Musser expressed her shock, saying, "You don't expect that. I mean, I know there's shootings, but it's never been that close to my house. I had to run home to make sure my son and my kid, my animals were safe."
The Columbia police department is investigating the incident and has assured the public that there is no known danger at this time. The number of people involved in the incident remains unclear, and no further information has been released.
