A tragic accident involving a horse and buggy occurred on Wednesday (January 7) in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of Strasburg Road in Salisbury Township. The collision resulted in the death of one person, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim, identified as a woman, was ejected from the buggy during the crash, as confirmed by Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni. A dead horse was also found at the scene. The Lancaster Patrol Unit, Troop J Forensic Services Unit, and Troop J Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialists Unit are currently investigating the incident.
WGAL News reported that Strasburg Road was closed in both directions for several hours, reopening around 5:20 p.m. The area near the intersection with Hoover Road was affected by the closure.
