(Porter Twp., PA) -- A man is dead after a mining accident in upper Dauphin County. It happened at the Williamstown Mine, which is located along Mountainside Road and Colliery Road in Porter Township, with 37-year-old Daniel Shoener of Donaldson killed yesterday. It’s believed Shoener was around one-thousand feet below the surface when a rock struck him and trapped him.

(Lower Paxton Twp., PA) -- In a change of course, Central Dauphin School District officials are deciding to keep their middle school students on a hybrid schedule. Superintendent Norman Miller emailed families yesterday saying they are altering the November 2nd return based on the support of their physician and in an abundance of caution. Elementary students will remain in full in-person instruction.

(Lower Paxton Twp., PA) -- Central Dauphin High School officials say they had a positive COVID-19 case last week. In a letter to families, the student was last present in their building last Tuesday. Since then, they’ve been contract tracing fellow classmates and other employees at the high school. Those who may have had close contact are being advised to quarantine for two weeks, then return to class November 4th if no symptoms arise.

>>Final Day For Free COVID-19 Testing Site In Lebanon County

(Lebanon, PA) -- Today is the final day of for a free COVID-19 testing site in Lebanon County. The state Department of Health’s outdoor clinic will administer the tests at the Lebanon County Fire Training Center on Metro Drive until this evening. The free tests are available for anyone three years and older even if they are not showing coronavirus symptoms.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Officials with UPMC are setting up a drive-thru flu vaccine clinic for Harrisburg School District families. The clinic will be available during the district’s weekly Grab-and-Go food distribution, with parents and children six months and older eligible to receive the vaccine. Those getting the flu shot will be asked to stay in their vehicles and wear masks.

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County election office in the Services Center is ensuring the security of ballots cast. The door to the room that holds all of the ballots has a newly installed reinforced locking system. Two election services employees each hold a key, and the county's chief administrative officer and a deputy hold the other two keys. Two people are required to open and close the door. The opening of the ballots will also be captured on video.

(Denver, PA) -- A Lancaster County man is charged with possessing child pornography. Police say they found videos and images in 21-year-old Jonathan Granados's Dropbox account. Investigators searched his home in September after a tip was made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. His computer and phones were seized, and police discovered over a hundred videos and nearly a dozen images of child porn in his Dropbox account. He has been released on bail.

(Muhlenberg Township, PA) -- Helping Harvest is partnering with two faith communities in Berks County on a new food pantry. The Jewish Federation of Reading is funding and operating a monthly food pantry out of the Hampden Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Muhlenberg Township. Helping Harvest is providing all the food, including produce, dairy, meats, and non-perishables. It opens today and will be open on the morning of the last Wednesday of each month.

>>Pennsylvania COVID-19 Cases Continue To Rise

(Harrisburg, PA) -- COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise throughout Pennsylvania. The state added more than 2,700 new cases to the total yesterday, pushing it over 198,000.

Tuesday saw the biggest one-day total of coronavirus-related cases ever.

23 new deaths related to the virus were added to the death toll, which is nearing 8,700.

>>Governor Urges Voters To Deliver Mail-In Ballots Soon

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is urging voters to return their mail-in ballots as soon as possible so their vote will count. Wolf says to fill out the ballot now if you still have it and then hand-deliver the ballot to a secure drop box or at the county board of election. Ballots must be delivered to a drop box by November 3rd and those who plan on mailing theirs in must have it postmarked by the same date. The mail-in ballots must reach the county board of elections by November 6th as the state has a three-day extension to count all the expected mail-in ballots.

>>Voters Claim Luzerne County Officials Cut Line Short

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) -- Dozens of voters are claiming they were not allowed to vote in-person in Luzerne County despite being in line on time. The cut off time for the line to vote was at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at the Luzerne County Penn Place Office Building. Voters say they were there on time and it's their constitutional right to vote. County officials say they followed their usual protocol and just cut off the line, now those who didn't get to vote yesterday plan on doing so November 3rd.
