Astronaut Is Back On Earth After ISS Mission - NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei [[ van-da-high ]] is back on Earth after a record-breaking 355 days in space.
That's more time on the International Space Station than any other American astronaut. He and two Russian cosmonauts left the ISS aboard a Russian Soyuz [[ SOY-ooz ]] spacecraft overnight and made a parachute-assisted landing in Kazakhstan.
Vande Hei will get medically checked out, then he'll head back to Texas and the two cosmonauts will return to their training base in Russia.
