HauerTo: How to Beat the Blue Monday Slump (Before It Hits)

Next Monday is officially known as Blue Monday — the most depressing day of the year.

Cold weather, dark mornings, post-holiday fatigue, and a serious lack of motivation…it’s basically January’s final boss.

So instead of letting it win, here’s how to get ahead of the slump.

Hack #1: Plan One Small Win

Not a full life reset — just something easy:

  • A favorite lunch
  • A good playlist
  • Leaving work 10 minutes earlier

Tiny wins still count.

Hack #2: Move, But Gently

No gym pressure.

A short walk, stretching, or dancing to one song is enough to boost your mood without draining you.

Hack #3: Schedule Comfort

Blue Monday hits softer when you’ve got:

  • Comfort food
  • A cozy show
  • Or a guilt-free nap on the calendar

Self-care = strategic.

Hack #4: Find the Light

Sunlight helps your brain remember joy exists.

Even a few minutes by a window or outside can make a difference.

Hack #5: Lower the Bar

You don’t need to conquer the world on Monday.

Showing up is enough.

The Bottom Line

Blue Monday is coming…But you don’t have to let it ruin your vibe.

A little prep goes a long way.
